Scratch Remover Set

The SONAX Scratch Remover Set effectively removes scratches and marks from paintwork in 2–3 simple steps. It is suitable for solid, metallic and scratch-resistant paint, restoring gloss and an even colour appearance. The set contains Polish 1, Finish 2, P5000 abrasive sheets, polishing cloths and an application block for a complete repair of minor scratches.

Sanding: Depending on the depth of the scratch, sanding may be needed. If so, wet the surface with water, place one of the abrasive sheets under the polishing block and gently rub the scratch with circular movements and minimal pressure. Caution: Do not sand more than necessary, so as not to remove the clear coat, and do not hold the block at an angle. Then wipe off the sanding residue with one of the polishing cloths supplied. The surface will become matt. CAUTION: Sanding is needed only for deep scratches. Many scratches and small marks can be removed without this step. Polishing: Apply a little Polish 1 from the tube to the scratched area or to the surface sanded in the previous step. Fold a clean polishing cloth several times and wrap it around the polishing block. Using high pressure, polish the surface with the block and cloth until the scratches or sanding marks are no longer visible (Fig. 5). Depending on the extent or depth of the scratches, this may take several minutes. If the surface becomes too dry while polishing, add more SONAX Polish 1. After polishing, a slight haze may remain on the surface. Wipe off the residue with the polishing cloth. Finishing: Apply a little Finish 2 from the tube to the pre-polished surface. Fold a clean, unused part of the polishing cloth around the polishing block. Using moderate pressure, rub the area until you reach the gloss you want. Finally, wipe off the residue with the polishing cloth. CAUTION: Protect the product from frost.
